Highly overpriced for a very bad coffee.. The service was terrible and the two people at the counter looked like they weren't interested in the individual coffee that needs attention to detail.
I rate it 2/10
Horrible service. I asked for the ice in my frappuccino to be ground fine. The blonde young person serving at 12:30 on the 9th May asked me "what are you on about, bro?" and made an ugly face. I wonder where the mangament digs up these nasty people.
I have found that all starbucks in New Zealand have a sad tendency to forgo the practice used at US starbucks of brewing fresh - drip brewed coffee (the way god intended!) every 20 minutes and instead serve some form of espresso almost exclusively. Espresso and its dilute variants is ok, if that's what you like, but to really appreciate coffee it should be french pressed or drip brewed. This has gotten a bad rep in NZ due to the use of inferior coffees and too much water
at most establishments that formerly used this method. Steam expressing coffee destroys the caffeine and the dark roast ruins unique flavors. Kiwis don't know what they're missing by not insisting on properly brewed (french pressed or drip) coffee.
Sometimes the coffee is OK here, but last week when I went in to meet friends and my flat white coffee was very watery. It was probably one coffee too many for the day, but still...
I do like the white choc mocachinos that Starbucks do, so next time I'll stick to that :-)
I had a "tall" (medium) cappuccino. It was OK, although a bit hot and not especially memorable. Served in a mug - that was a surprise; I don't think I've ever had a cappuccino in a mug before!
I've been here a couple of times in the past and found the coffee to be too weak. It's a bit like going to McDonalds and getting a chocolate milkshake, only to find they didn't put enough chocolate flavour in there (a common occurance too I'm afraid).
Starbucks is always expensive too, although I suppose it's a nice place to go with your laptop and to look at all the trendy people.
