This site is no longer active; many of the cafes closed after the 2011 earthquake, and it was formally archived in 2019. Thanks for visiting!

Review of Salt Bar & Cafe by looby on Wed, 04 Jul 2007, updated Wed, 04 Jul 2007:

This is in my opinion the best Cafe in Sumner, it may be tiny but what it lacks in size it makes up for with personality. The staff are so friendly.
I truly love going to Salt....We are usually there 2-3 times a week. Some times just for a coffee which is always beautiful, they don't mess around with the coffee it's just YUM, sometimes for a vino served in awesome huge glasses and for dinner at least once a week (you must try the wasbi steak,so tender it's unbelievable).
They have an outside dining area which is enclosed and heated with braziers, you can also sit upstairs and enjoy the view or have a seat at the leaner and watch the world go buy. Go on try Salt you'll love it to!

Review of Coffee Culture Sumner by looby on Wed, 04 Jul 2007:

This cafe has lost the plot with the coffee, it is terrible, watery overly sweet and a real shame once upon a time it was my favourite place to meet friends. But those days are gone. A real shame.
