Food is generally pretty good, although the coffee preparation needs some work more attention to milk temperature needed (way too hot), and really ashy tasting espresso from an Allpress blend I'm familiar with. Probably still the best on the beach front though.
This place was once a favourite, but unfortunately not up to their previous standards and there are now much more consistantly good places for coffee in Tauranga. On last few visits they haven't even managed to correctly make standard espresso based drinks. The foods good, but nothing seems to have changed in years. If you want an expertly made coffee and fantastic fresh cabinet food check out the newish Sierra cafe on Wharf Street instead.
Nice place to sit outside on a sunny day, but inside is a bit sterile.
Coffee is pretty average and often overextracted.
Grindz cafe is just down the street and is basic, but has less attitude.
I agree with the previous comment about the service, but last time for me my espresso was served in a cold cup making a very sour tasting shot. Previous visit no complaints whatsover.
Help!! they've got lawyers making the coffee. Seriously though, nice simple menu and generally well made coffee.
Was good when first opened, but I would avoid at all costs nowadays. The general hygeine is attrocious and not uncommon to have a sparrow crap in your drink from overhead. This place needs a visit from the council to get them back in order. In the meantime, keep walking.
