Hi,
I am a regular customer at 'Fuel' coffee at Wellington Airport and I thoroughly enjoy every coffee.
The service is always excellent especially from 'Jo' who is normally working at the top of gate 21 but at time she is in the main coffee bar. Her service and coffees are both extremely exceptional. I would encourage everyone to taste both her coffee and service. You will always get a friendly smile from her. She is a good ambassador for 'Fuel'.
Thanks Jo
Kind regards
Happy Fuel Customer
I tried Fuel coffee at Wellington airport for the first time a few days ago when I was on the 'red eye' and in dire need of a coffee. It was great! I had a large soy latte and it was creamy and smooth, with no hint of the bitter watery taste that airport cafe's usually manage to cultivate.
This cafe will no longer simply be rushed by on my way to my departure gate.
I have been in Wellington for four years now and first discovered fuel at Wellington airport in 2003. To this day I am a loyal customer. I was a regular customer at fuel in the airport for 1.5 years, then moving into the city to work, I visited Fuel Waring Taylor Street for 1.5 years and now visit fuel Holland Street daily. I love fuel coffee and espescially hot chocolates. I rate fuel the best coffee provider in Wellington. Staff a brilliant!! I recommend everybody try it!!
HAPPY LOYAL CUSTOMER
I always stop at Fuel when I fly into Wellington, coffee has always been good or better.
Fuel is perched in the corridor on the departures floor of Wellington Airport that takes you from the main shopping / eating area to gates 10-17. See pictures for more detail.
Fuel looks like a "real" cafe - pretty much existing only to serve good coffee. They seem to take care grinding and tamping the coffee, and it has all the appearance of a hip modern cafe.
Unfortunately the coffee wasn't nearly as good as I hoped; I'd rate it 5/10. I had a "tall" (medium/large) takeaway flat white. It was well presented - looked good. The top of the foam was VERY bitter, although the foam below that was nice. The coffee was OK, although a little bitter. Just barely drinkable - better than a Robert Harris cappuccino, but not that great.
Another oddity about the place is the smell of stale coffee that hangs over the whole corridor. Someone needs to clean up the old coffee grounds more often!
