is it the word or something....have you all been brainwashed?....if I call my coffee beans superb will it be just that? Unfortunatly the coffee was super bland and should be called just that. Staff where a mixed bag although a dude Jacob I think he called himself poured a great rosetta latte....pitty about the flavour of the espresso....
Food was of a good standard.

This has been one of my favourites for many a year and I have a photo of me standing at the original one in Rome. It's Caffe with two 'f's too because it's Italian remember! I used to work in a nearby office so this became our auxillary off-site office and Caffe Roma, the coffee, chocolate fish, and eggs benedict with the genuine hollandaise is the only thing I miss from working in that office as I have now escaped. I have to plan my trips there now to make sure I don't miss out. Excellent Supreme coffee even though it does come from Wellington!

Cafe Roma has to be one of the best in Christchurch. The coffee is Supreme and superb, the service is friendly, quick and professional, the atmosphere hectic, busy, noisy but still comfortable. Located on Oxford Tce, I recommend you grab a window seat which has a view of the Avon river and willow trees over the road. My only critism is the coffee isn't fair trade, so I frequent Sublime across the bridge on Gloucester St now.

Love this place. Especially in winter, when it's very cosy. Wood panelling, fireplace, convivial atmosphere. Open very early, sometimes I go there after an all-nighter when everything else is shut :-)

Good reading material. I don't usually have any trouble snagging a copy of The Press to work my way through if I'm on my own.

Great food. I miss the salmon filo pastry they used to have, but there are plenty of other yummy things. Not the cheapest place in town but good value for the serving size and presentation - but frankly, I'd pay just for the atmosphere.

They're usually very busy so it can be wise to book, especially if there are more than two of you.

Service has always been good in my experience.

Coffee is generally excellent.

Oh and the napkins are great. You'll have to go just to check them out.
