I went to this cafe recently (despite being told it wasn't great)and found the service extremely lacking. Had to wait till the staff were finished their conversation before I could be served. Fine. The girl serving me seemed friendly enough, until I tried to make small talk, at which point I received a blank look right before she turned and walked away (while I was talking) so that she could continue talking to her friends/colleagues. The coffee was only average, but I don't rate the fact that she couldn't be bothered to bring the coffee back to the counter and hand it nicely to me rather than holding it up over the coffee machine and waiting for me to come and collect it, despite the fact that there were no other customers waiting for coffee. I can handle an average coffee and I would even take a bad coffee and give the cafe a second try if it's made with a smile and a good attitude but bad customer service is just something I can't handle. Since this experience I've discussed it and heard the same type of report from several others. I couldn't help but think 'what a shame' as I walked away, that that cafe must lose many new customers through staff who clearly don't care about gaining new customers or making them feel appreciated.
