Review of Mayfair Cafe by Coffee Pilgrim on Fri, 23 Nov 2007:

This cafe is a Wellington gem! With an unimposing entrance on the main street of Upper Hutt, it disguises itself well. Yet once inside you are met with an eclectic collection of old movie memorabilia, including projectors, posters and even street signs, and warm but buzzing atmosphere. The service is quick (quite shocking for someone used to the epic waits that Wellington CBD cafes impose on a Sunday brunch), the food is delightful (I recommend the Thai beef salad), and the coffee is above average. My partner is earnestly on the search for NZ's best 'big breakfast' and Mayfair Cafe is currently ranked Numero Uno. He also appreciates the generous mochaccino marshmallow allowance. Although it is a fair treck for the Wellington city local, I find it is definitely worth the trip!

Review of Fuel by Coffee Pilgrim on Tue, 11 Dec 2007:

I tried Fuel coffee at Wellington airport for the first time a few days ago when I was on the 'red eye' and in dire need of a coffee. It was great! I had a large soy latte and it was creamy and smooth, with no hint of the bitter watery taste that airport cafe's usually manage to cultivate.
This cafe will no longer simply be rushed by on my way to my departure gate.
