Gee Whiz, those people must have had a bad day, as Cup Cafe is amazing, from food to service my family and friends have never had a dissapointing experience at all. Due to the popularity of Cup Cafe, they are sometimes literally slammed, and because everyone knows that the service is excellant they order and wait to pounce on a table.
We have sat there and seen people move 3 -4 times in order to table hop to their preferred spot, and I need to say I have never witnessed any of the staff being pushy or abrasive over a table, quite the contrary, they are quick to clear the tables in order to give you more room they say - not to kick you out!
We all seem to dine time and time again at Cup Cafe as the food is soooooooo good, the coffees seriously good, the views especially with the snow capped alps now, and the service, I make no apology, CUP CAFE you are the BOMB!!!!
We have friends who work in Antartica and the first place they visit on coming back to town is The Cup as they salivate for weeks prior over the all day breakfast and know that they will leave totally satisfied.
With our purse strings tightened more often than not lately, one luxury we do afford ourselves is the sublime food coffee and service we get at the Cup whilst we catch up with our family and friends.
Keep up the good work - you are deservedly one of the best Cafes in Christchurch.

Coffee was beauitful however, service was not flash at all. We have been to cup several times and will never go back. When the food arrived it wasn't what we had ordered, so they fixed that. However, we didn't get the refund of the $11 we were over charged. Then we placed another coffee order and waited 40 minutes for the coffee. A member of our group headed for the mens room and was approved by a staff member asking if we were finished, he said no we are waiting on coffee. How rude! The staff making the coffee spent most of there time laughing, joking, talking and not actually making the cofee. So not a good experience and won't be going back there.
