Message from the site admin -- received this e-mail the other day from the Machiatto Espresso roaster with up-to-date info on where to find him:

Hi there; FYI I am the roaster at Machiatto Espresso and have been supplying Essential Foods Cafe at the Masterton railway station since it started. Unfortunately, it has been closed since Dec 2007, so my main outlet is via the Masterton Farmers' Market at the Solway Showgrounds on Saturday mornings. More Info if required. Thanks.

This cafe has been open over a 18 months now, and ever since opening, these guys have used a locally-roasted coffee, "Machiatto", which I think is FairTrade AND organic. This is the best and freshest espresso coffee I have tasted in the whole of Masterton, (maybe even the Wairarapa)!

They are friendly and accomodating, and the foods (like the kumara and tomato sausage rolls) are delish! However, they have recently lost one of the original staff, which has changed the dynamics a bit, but this will hopefully settle down.

Great place, check it out!! ;-)
